Building Bridges was founded in 2020 by Bethany Tsiaras, a Virginia Tech student. This free program is dedicated to connecting older adults with students through two virtual programs: Coffee Hour and Activity Hour. These programs are offered from February 15th to April 21st on Zoom.

Virtual Team Meeting

Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am - 11:00am on Zoom.

Coffee hour is an open discussion and topic-based conversation, run by our students. We hope to "build bridges" between generations and converse virtually during a time when it may be difficult in person. We will discuss prompts like: if you could have a superpower what would it be, what is the greatest gift you have ever received, what is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self, and many other prompts!

Monday and Wednesday from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Zoom.

Activity hour is a time for students and older adults to connect and socialize while participating in virtual games. We hope to "build bridges" during a time when it may be difficult in person. We will do games like: Two Truths and a Lie, Scattergories, Charades, Virtual Scavenger Hunt, Trivia, This or That and many other activities!

Please email tbeth17@vt.edu for the zoom link!

There are no fees or commitments to participate in Building Bridges' programs.
